ADHD refers to a persistent pattern of problems related to inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that affects a person's functioning or development. How do you know if you have ADHD? If you endorse many of these criteria, you should consider getting support:
1) Impulsivity: The individual struggles with details and often makes careless mistakes, has trouble focusing and maintaining attention, doesn't seem to listen when spoken to, has difficulty organizing tasks, is often distracted and consistently loses items that are important for task completion.
2) Hyperactivity and impulsivity: The individual fidgets and squirms in his or her seat, has difficulty taking part in quiet activities, runs or is active in inappropriate situations, difficulty waiting his or her turn, intrudes on others during conversations and has trouble waiting to the end of a question before giving a response.
